How to style a skater dress

Skater dresses are probably my favorite type of dresses when it comes to picking out something for me and this jacquard dress is one of my favorites. Being petite, I tend to opt for clothing items that make me look taller and thinner to appear supple.

Why a skater dress look good on you

It’s simple! This dress creates volumes and if you pick the right length volume you will be able to achieve a subtle hourglass figure. Still, don’t be fooled by the fact that this dress could create magic tricks. You can only cheat just a bit for a general impression.

The puffy dress will make your waist look thinner than it actually is while the fitted upper with contour the bust. Pick a length that hits just above the knee to be sure your legs would be beautifully lengthened.

How to wear a jacquard skater dress?

You’ve basically got two options you want to try out.

Jacquard is actually a fancy fabric that is usually associated with more elegant looks so making it casual, might be a bit tricky when you think about it.

I tried to think of a combination that could be easily worn for a casual dinner or coffee out with the girls. I went for a chunky knitted cardigan, a pair of over the knee boots with a casual block heel, a fedora hat and a cute clutch.

From casual to glam

If you would keep the dress and clutch and change the boots with a pair of stiletto heels or sandals and a fur coat or maybe a silk scarf, you’ve got a super classy look for a cocktail party.

But I wouldn’t stop here. This satin jacquard fabric skater dress can easily be styled as a puffy skirt with a big loose sweater. at the same time, you might want to go really creative and try out a wool skirt over it and get some volume from the sturdy fabric. Why not? it’s all up to how creative you want to be.
