Valentine’s Day Brownies

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach

…. and that’s actually right! I love cooking especially sweets but unfortunately I will have to step side and start my summer diet which is very hard at the beginning.

Last week we had some special guests over so I tried to bake brownies, for the first time.

I first ate a brownie when my colleague  Ioana brought some  homemade cookies. They simply melted on your mouth.

So isn’t this the perfect  Valentine’s day gift?

I say you must try it out and then see if this was a good idea.

Just follow the instructions and everything will go smooth.

Ingredients:

I doubled everything to make two pans.

170g butter
200g chopped dark chocolate
6 tbsp cocoa powder
300g white sugar
3 large eggs
1.5 tsp vanilla
130g plain flour
1/2 tsp sea salt

How to:

First, in a double boiler melt the butter and chocolate. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with a bit of sugar until it forms peaks. When the chocolate and butter have melted, add the yolks and the rest of the sugar and mix well. Now it’s time to add the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, sea salt and flour. Try to avoid clumps because it will destroy the texture.

Butter the pan and powder with cocoa or flour. Add the mixture and cook in a preheated oven until the toothpick comes out clean.

Serve with fresh fruit, ice cream or vanilla sauce.
