What type of dress would you wear in autumn?
And the answer would be….. The type of dress that looks good on you! And maybe this denim dress outfit might just inspire you.
I don’t think I have said this enough times, but this should be the main criteria when you pick a dress, either out of your closet, online or from a shop. It doesn’t matter if it’s hip, just off the runway or super expensive, it should look like it’s been made especially for you. From length, texture to color and style, they should all fit your body type and personality.
This denim dress is pretty simple and of course easy to accessorize. I would have loved it for the time when I was pregnant because it has a bit of a higher waist cut so it would have layered pretty nicely over the bump. As a rule of thumb, I prefer to accessorize the main piece I choose to build my look around with items in colors similar to the ones you can find on the main piece.
How to style a denim dress:
For example, this denim dress outfit is built around the denim dress of course. The embroidery is colored in beige, deep red and dark blue, so I picked a burgundy fedora hat, beige ankle boots and a camel suede leather jacket.
This would have looked awesome with my red over the knee boots and a warm knitted cardigan or pullover. For a cold day, I would add some leather leggings or trousers underneath and a fur lined jacket to be sure I don’t catch a cold.
Basically, either you want to wear the dress as it is, as a top or even a skirt, there are many variations you could take into account when wanting to style a denim dress like this.
The only thing that you need to take to stay away from is trying to make it look very elegant. Being a simple denim dress, there is not much glam you could add to it so you could actually take it to that super elegant side.
So how would you wear your denim dress?
