Have you ever watched a TV show and thought, “where did she get that dress?” or “I have to have those heels,” or is it just me? The cast of Glee not only sang their way into the hearts of fans, but they also stood as fashion icons for all the “Gleeks” out there. “How to dress like Rachel Berry” articles were popping up all over the Internet, and Glee themed outfits were crafted. Now your outfits won’t just be like hers, but they can be hers.
Marc Jacobs, Burberry, J. Crew, and Ted Baker are among the brands worn by cast members on the show Glee. The wardrobe on the show ranged from summer dresses to prom gowns, and Rachel Berry’s high socks to Santana’s bold high heels. Costume director Lou Eyrich won the Costume Designer’s Guild Award for three straight years for her work on Glee. Her keen eye for fashion created one of the best-dressed casts on television; and now those outfits are up for auction. The six-season show ended in March and now Glee fans have the opportunity to own the outfits and props used by the Glee cast.
On September 17th and 18th starting at 11:00AM PDT, Profiles in History is teaming up with Invaluable to auction off over 1,500 items from the TV show Glee. Glee: The Official Show Auction not only offers the wardrobe of the regular cast, but also outfits worn by special guests like Britney Spears, Idina Menzel, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Demi Lovato.
Each cast member’s style progressed throughout each season; Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) went from wearing nerdy sweaters to wearing a more fashionable and city girl style. Rachel’s more adult wardrobe also included this beautiful white and silver gown.
Quinn (Dianna Agron) also proved to find her fashion sense after she left McKinley High. When not sporting her Cheerios uniform, Quinn’s style varied throughout the seasons. But these styles won the hearts of fans in the later seasons of Glee.
This online-only auction makes these gorgeous styles available to everyone, whether they’re a Glee fan at heart or not. Invaluable allows people from all over the world to have a chance to bid on their most wanted items from Glee: The Official Show Auction. They have collectibles for sale like these Glee outfits and other fashion and couture items.
I know I’m looking forward to the auction, and I enjoyed looking through the catalogs at all of the items worn and used by the Glee cast. So, if you’re on the market for some new fashionable pieces, don’t forget about this two day auction on September 17th and 18th!
