What is Boho?

Boho is a style created around hippie and bohemian influences around 2005. Celebrities carried on with this style of fashion for years to come and it hasn’t yet faded out.

This trend if mainly associated with music festivals, but not just only then. Each summer new influences come and go but this hippie style is always present one way or another.

With different influences, like ethnic, punk, grunge, romantic etc, boho will always be a staple style each season.

Adapt- Don’t copy

To make sure you don’t just pick on a trend and wear it as it is try many variations until you find your own personal identity with it. If you would ask me, I prefer  a rock chic boho vibe. Mixing ripped shorts, with lace tops and fringed leather jackets. Studded boots and fake dreads in my hair would complete the look.

Fedora and panama hats are some of the accessories I would go for when we are talking about boho hippie looks. I just saw some beautiful designs over at ZARA today and they reminded me of my first embellished DIY hat. Really love the fact that such fedoras are back in style.

Luxe Hippie

For a sexy, yet edgy boho look, try some beaded details. This fringed-beaded body is a super cool addition to your wardrobe. You will probably not be able to wear it very often because it’s kind of pretentious, but how about going to a cocktail party with some flared trousers and such a cool top? It will surely draw all the attention because it’s such an original appearance.

Fringed Boots

I don’t know about you, but I do love fringed boots. Wear them with a simple shift dress or a layered lace dress and a sunhat for a cool mix.

A beach party couldn’t be complete without these boots. Pick a cool bathing suit and get a chiffon or lace dress that would show it underneath.

Leather jackets and vests

My favorites! Suede or leather jackets and vest with tassel or fringed details are the best investments. They could be styled in so many ways! Wear them with dresses,  flared or skinny jeans and biker boots. Complete even a simple look with such a statement piece, no need for accessories, prints or bold colors. Just add tassels!
