Casual Summer Look
You might know by now that I don’t wear skirts on a daily basis, but when I fall in love with a comfortable and yet very chic skirt like this ruffle skirt or the ripped denim skirt, I tend to break my own habits.
When I first saw this particular ruffle skirt I automatically thought about pairing it with a simple T-shirt and some sneakers for the perfect casual summer look. Surely you won’t catch me wearing this at the office mostly because it’s cold … my dear colleagues love to keep the AC button locked on WINTER and it tends to get really cold. I would still wear it though on a day out for icecream or a stroll with my baby girl.
Ideas on how to style a Tshirt and skirt outfit for summer
- Don’t mix up too many prints, unless you really know your way with matching them. Just go for one simple one printed piece and you will be fie.
- Play with volume but be sure to adapt it to your bodyshape. If you have wide hips, try an A-line skirt and a fitted top with big sleeves maybe, to balance the look. If you have broad shoulders, opt for volume on the lower side. A ruffled skirt will do the trick.
- Pick natural fabrics that won’t make you sweat much as it is indeed summer we are talking about. A latex or leather skirt might look great but it would tend to get uncomfortable after a few hours.
This T-shirt and Skirt outfit would diffidently depict my summer habits when I do want to create a more girlish look while keeping it comfortable. And I am sure there are many other girls that would do the same just because they prefer to be comfortable in the first place. Normally you would see me accessorizing this with a cool rucksack, but this time I wanted to do something more fun so I grabbed this mini cross-body bag that I so love. Too bad summer is almost over; can’t say I could enjoy it too much. Maybe next year it will be a bit less hectic, even though I know I make it this way myself.
What did you enjoy wearing this summer? How about your favorite casual look?
